What apps and tech tools are you actually using day-to-day in the UAE?

Hey everyone! I’ve been living in Dubai for a while now and I’m always on the lookout for apps or tools that actually make life here easier, whether it’s for work, getting around, paying bills, or just staying organised in this heat.

Right now my go-to stack is pretty much: Careem for getting around, Noon for quick deliveries, and I’ve been leaning on a couple of AI writing assistants for work stuff lately. Also recently discovered that some government services on the DubaiNow app are way more complete than I realised, honestly a bit late to that party!

On the work side, I know a lot of people in the region are experimenting with AI tools for productivity, especially in sectors like real estate, finance and marketing. Curious whether that matches what you’re seeing too.

I’d love to hear what’s actually in your daily rotation. Any hidden gems specific to living in the UAE that you’d recommend? And is anyone here using AI tools in a professional context, has it actually changed how you work?

DubaiNow is genuinely underrated, took me way too long to realise you can renew vehicle registration, pay DEWA, and sort fines all in one place. Game changer once you actually explore it properly.

A few others I’d add to the mix:

Day to day living

  • Entertainer app (discounts everywhere, pays for itself fast)
  • RTA app for Salik top-ups and parking
  • Talabat still beats most options for food delivery speed in my area

Work side

  • Notion for organising everything
  • ChatGPT and Perplexity for research and drafts
  • Zoom is still the default here for client calls, no surprise

On the AI productivity question, yes it has genuinely shifted how fast I can turn around proposals and content. Real estate and marketing folks here especially seem to be using it heavily for listing copy and market summaries.

What area of Dubai are you in? Some apps perform way better depending on location honestly.
