Jobs spotted this week — share what you're seeing out there (July 10)

Hey everyone, kicking off the weekly jobs thread! :waving_hand:

From what I’ve been noticing around me this week, a few sectors seem to be buzzing more than usual. Tech roles — especially anything touching AI, data, or product — continue to feel active, with a lot of conversations happening at the startup and scale-up level. Hospitality is also picking up, which makes sense with the summer tourism push and the longer-term Vision projects. And real estate, well, that never really slows down here does it :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

That said, I’m just one person with one network — which is exactly why I love this thread. You all see different corners of the market.

So, what are YOU spotting this week?

  • Any interesting roles or companies hiring that caught your eye?
  • Any sectors that surprised you (positively or negatively)?
  • Tips for anyone currently job hunting in Dubai — what’s actually working?

Drop it all below — the more specific, the more useful for everyone. Let’s help each other out! :flexed_biceps:

Great summary of the vibe right now, totally matches what I’m picking up too!

A few things catching my eye this week:

Sectors looking active:

  • Fintech and payments (several scale-ups seem to be building out commercial teams)
  • Healthcare, particularly private clinic groups expanding post-pandemic infrastructure
  • Education, with a surprising number of mid-senior curriculum and ops roles

What’s actually working for job hunters right now:

  • LinkedIn is still king here, but the REAL moves happen when you comment genuinely on posts rather than just apply cold
  • Referrals are huge in UAE, so showing up to community events actually converts
  • Tailoring your CV for free zone vs mainland employers can matter more than people realise

One tip I’d add: if you’re targeting government-adjacent roles, keep an eye on official portals like mofaic.gov.ae or individual emirate career pages, not just LinkedIn.

Summer can feel slow but honestly hiring managers are still moving, just sometimes with longer gaps between responses.

Anyone seeing anything specific in the creative or media space this week? That sector always feels a bit harder to read here.
